Ah,
the good old days, when we used to actualy tune our guitars by ear, and all of our
equipment would fit in the boot of our car |

When I first visited the U.S. in the
early eighties,
I met a man in Boston who convinced me to stay here and form a rock band.
To start with, we went to Omaha, Nebraska,
with the the first U.S. band and played the club scene for a couple of months.

As soon as we got back to Boston the
band split up and we came back to Omaha
for a short period and formed a second band, thats where these rare
shots come from, we called the band "The Kidz"
because that's what we were, in more ways than one (another story)
This band took us through the year, and then
after we went our separate ways,
the band became very transient, and therefore it was always
something new to see, you would never know who was playing at any particular show.

Sometimes, I would walk out on the
stage and greet my fellow musicians with the phrase:
"Hello, my name is Phillip and I will be your leader this evening".

These days the band is still somewhat iffy, but I do my
best to keep things going,
sometimes I feel like an old mother who is stuck changing nappies for the rest of her
life,
but that's Rock'N'Roll. You either love it or hate it, I have done both,
but for people like me, it's a tough master to escape from, not that you really want
to leave it,
but sometimes it can get you down. ![]()
But nothing, and I mean nothing on this earth, can compare to the joy, I experience,
when I come off the stage knowing I've done my best,
even when we stink on ice, which happens now and again.
(who's he kidding, we're the greatest) ![]()
